Park Street Summer Series Awards Night Photos and Announcements

The Summer Series Awards Night was a great occasion; the first time since 2019 that we had a social, indoor celebration.  Presentations were made to the Monday and Wednesday Summer Series winners and placegetters; scorer Mark had unearthed a set of vintage red and white cloth badges that some of us remembered well.

The Champions received their medallions; for those that weren’t there, we’ll get them to you either in person or by mail shortly.

The Michael Hubbert Course Setter of the Year Award was made to Ian Greenwood, for his Chirnside Park course; a great job done on a difficult map.  Highly Commended were Martin Sime, Stephen Dunbar, Paul and Maria Main, Damian Spencer, and Hans Damen.

After a fun competition to guess the number of participations since 2000 – answer was in the order of 304,000, with Andrew Johnston coming closest to the pin – we announced all of The Millennium Club milestone achievers.  Six new Legends were presented with their certificates, and Noel McVey and Peter Yeates were inducted into the Hall of Fame, for completing 2500 events – fantastic achievements by everyone.

The night was also an opportunity to thank the volunteers – course setters, scorers, Maprun admins, Rego helpers, and everyone who pitches in to ensure that Park Street orienteering keeps surviving and thriving.

See you all next week for the start of Winter series!
