Discover Orienteering in Melbourne The first Discover Orienteering event in Melbourne is on Sunday 12 April 2026, at Koomba Park in Wantirna. Discover Orienteering is a come and try event aimed at anyone who wants to give orienteering a go – all ages are welcome. You’ll be given the opportunity to try real orienteering courses in a safe, welcoming environment, surrounded by people with similar experience levels and a team of enthusiastic helpers. At a Discover Orienteering event you will: learn 5 helpful hints for navigating with a map complete your first orienteering course! be able to progress at your own pace meet new people and participate in fun, social activities find out how to take the next steps in your orienteering journey WHEN: Sunday 12 April 2026 – 10:30am-12:30pm (Session 1) or 11:00am-1:oopm (Session 2) WHERE: Wantirna Reserve/Koomba Park, Mountain Highway, Wantirna Google Maps link WHO: Anyone who wants to try orienteering! All ages are welcome. Children under 16 must be registered by an adult, although they may complete the activities by themselves REGISTRATION AND COST: $10 per participant. Click on one of the Registration links below to sign up and pay. Each participant must be registered. You can register multiple people and pay once. You can use the links below to sign up until Sunday, or you can register on the day by cash or card, between 10.15am and 10.45am. If you had a great time and want to try more orienteering, you can sign up for our next LEARN TO ORIENTEER program. This will be held over 5 weeks in different parks in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Your Learn To Orienteer participation fee includes free entry to five MelBushO events, held at the same time and location, so you can practice your new skills on a real orienteering course! You can also try PARK STREET ORIENTEERING. Saturday afternoon events take place between April and September. You’ll receive a free voucher to come to a Park Street event at Abbey Walk (Heatherdale) on Saturday 18 April, when you complete your Discover Orienteering session.
