Read the Step 3 Guidelines for Summer Series, and sign up to enter an event (not available until events are permitted to go ahead)

Four evenings a week all over Melbourne, as well as shorter local series in Macedon, Geelong, Mornington Peninsula and the Surf Coast.  Register from 30 minutes before the mass start time. Running courses range from 3-10 km, and there is a 60 minute power walking course.  For runners the format is Scatter (visit a designated number of controls in any order, first back wins), and for power walkers the format is Score format (visit as many controls as you can in the allocated time, highest points score wins).

Wear jogging/walking shoes and comfortable, light coloured clothing.  Bring a watch and a drink.  Cost:  $5 per event for adults, $3 for juniors (under 21)

The Tuesday, Thursday, Geelong and Surf Coast Summer Series use the MapRun smartphone app.  Download the app, and bring your smartphone or Garmin watch.  Instructions available at the events. At the Thursday Summer series, MapRun is optionally available as an alternative to conventional control cards.

Three nights a week, and most Saturday afternoons, all over Melbourne.  Choose either a 45 minute or 60 minute running course, or a 60 minute power walking course.  All courses are Score format, where you visit as many controls as you can in the allocated time, with the aim of earning as many points as possible.

Wear jogging/walking shoes and comfortable, light coloured clothing. Bring a watch, a drink, and a torch for night events.  Cost:  $5 per event for adults, $3 for juniors (under 21)

The Monday, Tuesday and Geelong Winter Series use the MapRun smartphone app.  Download the app, and bring your smartphone or Garmin watch.  Instructions available at the events. At the Monday Winter series, MapRun is optionally available as an alternative to conventional control cards.
