Princes Park Come and Try Sprint Orienteering – February 10, 17, 24

MFR’s popular series of introductory training sessions are back again this summer! For three consecutive Saturday mornings, we’ll be meeting at Princes Park to offer coaching and training courses in the park and surrounding streets.

These sessions are perfect for families, runners and anyone looking to learn orienteering skills in a friendly, safe environment! These free sessions are an ideal introduction to sprint orienteering – the shortest and most exciting format of orienteering – and lead a series of other sprint events in Melbourne (including our event at Melbourne Uni on Sun 3 March) and the main autumn/winter orienteering season.

Free entry is available for newcomers and juniors, and a short training exercise will also be on offer for more experienced orienteers each week, with a $5 entry fee. With starts from 8:30am, just across from the Parkville parkrun finish, why not combine a 5k run/walk at parkrun with this training?

Start anytime from 8:30am-10am at the assembly area in the northeast side of Ikon Park Stadium, near the roundabout at the junction of Bowen Crescent and Garton Street. More details available here and existing orienteers are asked to please enter via Eventor by this Thursday night (enter on the day will be available for newcomers).
