DROC Celebrates 40 Years on January 28 at Koolunga

DROC turns 40 this year, and everyone’s invited to the party!  Dandenong Ranges Orienteering Club was formed in December 1978, and held its first event in January 1979. This will be a year of celebration for the club, kicking off with a Really Big Birthday Cake on Monday January 28, at our park-street orienteering event in Koolunga, Ferntree Gully.

We were delighted to see so many people come along, some suitably dressed in their best vintage outfits. Everyone enjoyed a great course set by club life member Carl Stemp, featuring no less than 3 control 20s (an extra 40 points – but you could only choose one). The cake was swiftly demolished and a great time was had by all!

Anyone recognise these two young lads??
