Victorians at Oceania/Aus Champs

A number of Victorian orienteers are currently competing at the Oceania Championships, Australia/NZ challenge and the Australian Schools Championships in the ACT. Congratulations to those Victorian orienteers selected to represent Australia in the challenge series and to the representatives in the Schools Championships team.

The first weekend of competition featured the middle distance championships and relay. Several Victorians featured among the placings in the middle distance with Bruce Arthur, Warren Key, Alex Tarr and Julie Flynn all winning their respective classes; Morten Neve and Ted van Geldermalsen taking silver; and Aston Key, Milla Key, Charlotte Preston and Alison Radford all finishing third in their classes.

In the relay there were some strong performances by Victorian orienteers with Aston Key, Milla Key, Tash Key, Bruce Arthur, Warren Key, Tim Hatley and Tony Radford all part of winning Australian teams.

The upcoming midweek races feature the Schools Championships where the Victorian will compete against teams from eh other states and NZ in sprint, long and relay events. The Oceania championships then conclude next weekend with the long and sprint races.
