Vale Rob Caldwell

It is with great sadness to share with you that AWOC member Rob/Robbie Caldwell passed away recently after losing his valiant battle with cancer.

Rob was very well known in the orienteering and rogaining communities, having been actively involved with both sports since their early days.  Rob was an energetic personality who got things done, was always keen to help others with anything that needed doing and continually worked to improve the community in which he lived.

But above all, Rob was a true friend to many, especially his best friend and partner Annie Gibbs.

Our thoughts are with Annie and Rob & Annie’s families.

We’ll miss you dearly Robbie.

Rob was also a member of both Dandenong Ranges and Bayside Kangaroos orienteering clubs, at various times, when he lived in Melbourne; so he was known to many, many people in the orienteering and rogaining community. He was also active in canoeing and parkrun.

Rob’s funeral service is in Benalla next Monday 29th July at 11 am.
