Geelong City Race Weekend, November 21-22

One destination. Three events. Endless navigation.

Orienteering, waterfront attractions and a weekend away — Geelong City Race has something for everyone!

Taking place on Sunday 22 November, the inaugural Geelong City Race is a great opportunity to combine orienteering with a weekend exploring one of Victoria’s most appealing waterfront destinations.

The City Race will take participants through Geelong’s city streets, parks and waterfront, but there’s plenty to enjoy beyond the courses. Explore the Eastern Beach waterfront, discover the city’s colourful bollards and street art, visit the Botanic Gardens or enjoy the many cafés and attractions around the city centre.

And there’s a little extra for participants: show your race bib on the day to receive a complimentary ride on the Geelong Carousel!

It’s also a perfect opportunity for orienteers to bring along family and friends who haven’t tried the sport before. With six courses to choose from, there’s a range of options for different experience and fitness levels. While some chase a competitive result, others can enjoy navigating the city at their own pace — and everyone can share in the experience.

Why not make a full weekend of it? Saturday 21 November features a Sprint event at Kardinia International College and mountain bike orienteering (MTBO) at Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus. Join in one event or combine all three for a weekend of navigation and discovery.
