Victorians Earning National Honours – Silva Medal, Honours Team, and National Rankings Announced

Congratulations to Tim Hatley for winning the 2025 Silva Medal, awarded by Orienteering Australia for the most successful competitor at national championships throughout the year.  The Silva Medal is determined by a points system, and Tim scored maximum points, being the only orienteer to win all 6 races and earn 24 points.  What an amazing achievement, capping off a huge year for Tim!

Ella was named in the Australian Schools Honour Team for her performances at the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships, in the Junior Girls category.  The Honour Team is made up of the top four competitors in each category, so this is a huge achievement for Ella.

Ella also joined several Victorians in winning National MTBO titles in 2025.  Winners were Lucas Kent, Leigh Privett, Ella Maja Lang, Carolyn Jackson,  and Heather Leslie.

In the National Rankings for foot orienteering, the following Victorians topped their age classes:

  • Opus Greenhan
  • Richard Goonan
  • Tim Hatley
  • Alex Tarr
  • Maya Bennette
  • Libby Meeking

In the National League, the Vic Vikings finished second in both M21 and W21, a great end to a successful year for our high performance team members!
