Summer Shorts and Sprints Final Races, Deakin Burwood and Salesian Sunbury – Entries Now Open

Lace up your running shoes and get lost amongst the buildings at Deakin University, Burwood.
Starting in the adjacent reserve, explore the north side of the map and race the Mad Dash across the oval (for prizes!), before entering the main campus area for a fast and furious technical delight.

The sixth event in the Summer Shorts andSprints Series is at the Deakin University campus in Burwood. The event centre will be in the Gardiners Creek Reserve directly north of the parking in Carpark 6, accessed via Holland Ave, off Burwood Highway. Courses available for newcomers, families and experienced orienteers alike!

  • 3 Courses – Long 3.5km, 23 controls; Medium 2.5km, 20 controls; Short 2.2km, 19 controls (easier navigation)
  • Prizes for the fastest Mad Dash sprint across the oval adjacent to the main campus!
  • Start anytime between 2 and 3pm; courses close at 4pm
  • Parking and toilets will be available in Carpark 6 (google maps link), find the event centre in the adjacent Gardiners Creek Reserve directly north of this parking area
  • Enter online by Thursday 21 November
  • Kids (under 13) Run Free! Juniors (13-20) $6, Adults $12
  • Entry on the day subject to map availability – payment by cash or card

Race 7, Salesian College, Sunbury, Saturday 30 November

A long-awaited return to the unforgettable Rupertswood, home of  The Ashes.

Choose any of the three courses:
Course 1 (Long) – 3.0 km
Course 2 (Medium) – 2.5 km
Course 3 (Short) – 2.0 km, easier navigation.

Start times: start any time between 2pm and 3pm. Course closure 4pm.

Directions: enter from C743/M2 at the roundabout, through the main gates. Park as directed. Toilets available. Note: the arena is up to 500 m walk from parking.

Pre-entry preferred but Entry on the Day will also be available.
