Get your 2026 orienteering season off to a great start with a beginners-intermediate bush
coaching day close to Melbourne Airport on Sunday 1st March 2026.

Are you looking to:
– move from moderate to hard courses?
– take your MelBushO, street or sprint experience to the bush?
– try orienteering from a rogaining, hiking or trail running background?
– get some coaching tips to improve your navigation?

Join us for a bush coaching morning at Woodlands on 1 March, aimed at newer orienteers, juniors, and anyone looking to build confidence on harder bush courses. The session will cover key skills such as attackpoints, aiming off, catching features and compass-work, with options ranging from a guided map walk for beginners to short, repeatable skill-based exercises. There will also be extension challenges and technical exercises for more experienced orienteers who want to sharpen their technique and decision-making in bush terrain.  With a 10am start for all we will be finished at lunchtime.

Bring your Sportident stick if you have one!!

Homestead Cafe afterwards to debrief and refuel.
Parking on the side of Oaklands Rd.
Entry:
MFR members or juniors: free
All others: $10
