Maxi at Hepburn Diggings, Sunday March 22 – Report and Results

The Hepburn Diggings Maxi was a successful event with over 78 participants. It was great to see Matt Layton complete the whole course scoring the maximum 1200 points. There were a few others who went close to doing the same. Matt covered 24 kilometres in less than 3 hours. He is the first junior to win the Maxi. Aaron Benbenek and Alice Fang with 690 points were the winning team in the 3 hour. Heather O’Donnell was the leading female with 600 points.

Tim Hatley won the 1.5 hour with 620 points and Keely Williams was the leading female with 590 points.

Great credit go to Lauris Stirling and the Greenhalgh family (especially Anna, Leigh) for a superb effort with the catering. Everybody came back from their run with hearty appetites and appreciated the home-made soup and cakes prepared by Lauris. The freshly made sandwiches were made on site with all ingredients sourced by Lauris.

Carolyn Layton, Helen Edmonds and Christine Prentice gave invaluable assistance in admin.

Thank you to Ron Scholes, Nick Somes, Helen Edmonds, Ron Frederick, Peter Maloney, Matt and Josh Layton, David and Alexander Rowlands and Gary Buchan for bringing in controls.
