Course Setting Competition

OV is holding a course-setting competition on the legendary Victorian multi-level sprint area – La Trobe University, Bundoora.

People of all levels of course-setting experience are encouraged to take part, it’s a great chance to work on your course-setting skills in a pressure free environment. We’re also hoping to use the winning course for a low-key local event later in the year.

The competition will be judged by Mikkel Kaae-Nielsen, a former OV Coach-in-Residence. Mikkel was the visionary behind making use of the double layers of this campus (and updated the map to include these), so he knows this area better than anyone.

You can read the detailed instructions for the competition here and download the map as a JPEG or PDF so you can get started.

It doesn't get any better than this - a perfect summer evening, park-street orienteering in the bush, and a shared experience with family and friends. That was the scene at Westerfolds this week. It came on top of two fantastic events featuring the Tatterson Tree Maze on Monday, and the equally maze-like Albert Park on Tuesday. Top off an incredible week at Eltham Lower on Thursday, then head to Queenscliff on Saturday for the Surf Coast Series finale!
