Vic Bush Double Header Weekend, May 6 and 7, Wattle Gully

Get back in the bush for VIC Bush Series events 1 & 2 on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th May on the fantastic Alex Tarr-produced Wattle Gully map which has been fully updated. It includes a great mix of gold mining terrain with historical ruins, some detailed erosion gullies and patches of thicker vegetation used for both days, with the same arena beside the dam.

The Saturday event is organised by Bendigo Orienteers and starts from 12.30pm to 2.00pm, with courses closing at 3.00pm. Sunday’s event is organised by Yarra Valley and starts from 11.00am to 12.30pm, with courses closing at 2.00pm. Both events include the usual 5 VIC Series courses and a 2-hour score.  Access to event parking on both days is only via Campbells Creek.

These events are being run in conjunction with the final National League (NOL) weekend, which includes an individual Prologue and Chasing Start Final races on Saturday, and a Relay on Sunday, before the Vic Bush Series. Full details are on Eventor (day 1 here, and day 2 here). Entries close Thursday 4 May, and there will be very limited entry on the day available.

There will also be a NOL dinner and presentations at the Mt Alexander Golf Club in Castlemaine on Saturday night – book via Eventor.  Book your accommodation in or near Castlemaine soon as options are limited.
