New President, OV Awards Announced at AGM

The Orienteering Victoria Annual General Meeting was held on Friday May 26.  After longstanding President Carl Dalheim stepped down, David Jaffe was elected as the incoming President.  Wendy Taverna has joined the Board as co-Vice President, with Margi Freemantle (co-VP), Aislinn Prendergast (Secretary) and Stephen Collins (Treasurer) remaining in their current positions.  Carl led OV through some significant ups and downs, including two years of severe disruption due to covid, and a hugely successful Australian Championships in 2022, and his efforts to secure grant funding and keep OV financially viable, were recognised and applauded.

  • Orienteering Victoria Event Management Award – Susan Guinane, for coordinating the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships 2022

  • Lyrebird Award Junior Girl – Sophie Taverna
