2024 VIC Series

The 2024 Series features 6 events from May to August.  There will be top competition, and great prizes on offer for series winners!  Your best four scores from the series determines your overall position.  Series scores are updated after each event.

Vic Series events not only feature full colour maps and highlight the best of our orienteering terrain, but they are a great day out for the family, with catering provided by our Junior Squad, and real-time results displayed on large screens, and on the LiveOL app.

To assist organisers, we request online entry and payment.  While we understand that pre-entry is not always possible, options to enter on the day will be limited.  Please use Eventor to enter before the closing date.

How online entry helps you:

  • guarantees a map on your preferred course
  • allows you to pay with PayPal instead of cash
  • saves you the hassle of filling in a paper form, and queuing up at Registration to enter and pay

How online entry helps us:

  • the registration process is faster and simpler, meaning we can get you onto your course sooner!
  • we can plan better and reduce waste – not just maps, but provision of catering, water, toilets/toiletries, loan equipment, TV screens, parking spots – are all driven by entry numbers

Five courses are offered at each event, making it easy to find a course to suit all abilities and fitness levels.  Newcomers are very welcome and there are always easy and moderate courses available, together with equipment hire and coaching.  Pre-entry via Eventor is the preferred entry system for these events.

Courses: You can choose any of the five courses offered, regardless of your age or gender. Course 1 is the longest, and Course 5 is the shortest. There is also a Score course, where you can aim to visit as many controls as you can, in any order, within a set time limit.

  • Courses 1-2 are Hard navigation
  • Course 3 is Hard navigation but shorter and physically easy for the less agile
  • Course 4 is Moderate navigation and physically moderate
  • Course 5 is Easy navigation and physically moderate

The event-specific information flyer available in Eventor will provide course lengths, terrain information, entry instructions and driving directions.
