Victorian Orienteering Events and COVID-19

Following the Commonwealth Government recommendations announced on Friday March 13 regarding mass gatherings of 500 or more people, we wish to advise that at this stage, currently fixtured orienteering events in Victoria will go ahead as planned, whilst adhering to suggested precautions. If the situation changes we will notify cancellations or changes via this website as quickly as possible.

You must not come to any orienteering event or activity if you fall into one of the following categories.

  • If you are unwell with a cough or fever or other respiratory symptoms. This is particularly so for people who have recently travelled from overseas.
  • If you have been a close contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19 until 14 days after having contact with a confirmed case even if they are completely symptom free.
  • If you have returned from or transited through a listed higher risk country (currently mainland China, Iran, Italy, South Korea), until 14 days after leaving the country.
  • If you are undergoing COVID-19 testing until you have received your results
  • If you have been advised to stay at home by a health professional.

We continue to closely monitor the situation, and follow advice issued by Commonwealth and State governments, per the Australian Dept of Health website: https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert and the Victorian Dept of Health website: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

Please follow personal health and hygiene advice at these websites; but please also continue to support our sport and enjoy our forests.
