FINAL BULLETIN FOR COMPETITORS

This contains vital information on how to get to the event, what to do when you arrive, and how to stay Covid safe while enjoying a fantastic race!

The return to sprint orienteering racing is finally here! The Vic Sprint Champs at Kensington is the one event you don’t want to miss this year! This area has long been a favourite of Park & Street orienteers but since the sprint version debuted at Sprint into Spring last year, we’ve been desperate to head back there and this event is set to be a great way to finish off the orienteering season.

Here’s what we’re promising:

  • Narrow alleyways, intricate housing estates and remnants of the old stock route to navigate your way through
  • Top quality courses from an international guest course planner – Mikkel Kaae-Nielsen (Denmark)
  • Blair Trewin (YVOC) as controller and a fantastic organising team from Melbourne Forest Racers. Many thanks to Bayside Kangaroos for letting us use your fantastic map.

This event will fully comply with all Victorian Government regulations that will be in place, as well as OV’s COVID Safe Plan. Once entries are complete, start times will be allocated, participants will be given instructions on how they will be grouped in cohorts and when they should arrive at the event (with the first starts from 10:00am). For more details, check out the information flyer on Eventor (more details will be released closer to the event): https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Documents/Event/8967/1/Information-flyer

Entries are now open and will close at 11:59pm on Tuesday 8 December (no late entries or entries on the day will be accepted). Head to Eventor now to get your entry in: https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/9344

If you feel like your sprint technique’s a little rusty – we suggest joining us at our weekly MFR Sprint Training, held on Wednesday nights in the lead up to the event, find out more here: https://mfrorienteering.com.au/club-training/

For more details, please see the Info Flyer on Eventor or please contact Patrick Jaffe ([email protected] or 0481 333 180).
