Park Street Summer Series Christmas Update

After some wild weather last week, we can look forward to more settled conditions for our pre-Christmas Park Street events. In fact, while things sometimes got hot and steamy, the rain stayed away, as it usually does, so don’t let dire forecasts deter you! If you’re looking for an antidote to too many shortbreads and scorched almonds, not to mention all those social drinks “n” nibbles, look no further – a few runs or brisk walks between now and Dec 25 is exactly what you need! Events are on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening, starting from 7pm (register from 6.30pm), right through until the end of March. Check out the fixture and details here. Why wait?  See you out there soon!

Coming Up – this Tuesday, head to Avondale Heights – just west of the Maribyrnong River, and easy access from the M80, with plenty of green spaces to enjoy. On Wednesday, we’re off to Bulleen Ups & Downs, a map that hasn’t been available to Wednesday regulars for quite some time. With a new start in Sheahans Reserve, you’ll be right in the thick of things from the start, giving a fresh perspective. Thursday serves up a treat at LaTrobe University, with the challenge of navigating around the campus with its waterways, bridges and overpasses. Then on Christmas Eve, take a trip back to medieval times at Camelot Rise – keep your eyes peeled for Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot!

Christmas – there will be no event on Christmas Day, but we’ll be back at beautiful Yarran Dheran, in Mitcham, on Boxing Day; stay afterwards to share snags, sangers and sauce to celebrate. Thursday week is another great map seeing its first use in summer – Fabulous Fitzroy. This inner city gem starts from Edinburgh Gardens.

Did You Know – fresh fruit is provided at all Monday, Tuesday and Thursday summer events!

Finally, a reminder – please remember that anyone who did not buy a season ticket, must pay their entry fee before they will receive a control card.

All Park Street events have several courses for runners, ranging from 3-10 km, and a 1 hour course for power walkers. No need to pre-register- simply arrive at the start at at 6.30pm, register and pay on the day ($5 for adults, $2 for juniors) so you’re ready for a briefing, followed by a mass start at 7pm. Families and groups are very welcome. First time? We’ll give you a quick coaching session to get you on your way. Questions? Email [email protected], or call 0409 135 020.
