Park Street Orienteering – Summer is Heating Up

We’re past the halfway mark in Summer Series, and the temperature is rapidly rising! The good news is that between 7 and 8pm, the sun is lower, and there’s often a cool breeze, making this the perfect time of the day to be out with a map. Find out what’s been happening at previous events by checking our weekly Wraps, maps and results. Stay cool this week by bringing plenty of water, and enjoy our complimentary fresh fruit after your run or walk.

Tuesday – Series 1 concluded at Skeleton Creek last week, and there were certainly some very close results!  Tonight’s event at Fairbairn Park takes you along the banks of the Maribyrnong, with presentations afterward at the Essendon Golf Club.

Wednesday – a big crowd enjoyed orienteering along the Outer Circle trail, and the leafy suburb of Deepdene – check the map and see if you can figure out the best routes!   This week’s map, Koonung Crossing, features lots of parkland, trails, bridges and lakes, alongside the Eastern Freeway.

Thursday – competitors at last week’s event navigated the linear parklands through Rosanna and Macleod.  This week’s map at Viewbank, starting from Price Park, will certainly have its ups and downs.

Surf Coast – why not head to St Leonards and enjoy a brand new map in this popular seaside series.  All courses are Score format, starting at 4pm, with a 90 min or 60 min option.

Monday – last night’s competitors were grateful for the shady parkland of Gardiners Bend.  Cooler conditions next Monday for Tirhatuan, where the Dandenong Creek wends its way right through the map.
