Orienteering Events Update as at September 21

EVENTS DURING SEPTEMBER-NOVEMBER – updated September 21

Metropolitan Melbourne – all events cancelled until further notice.  Exercise limits expanded to 10 km travel radius, and four hour time limit, from September 18.  Outdoor social interaction permitted for up to 5 fully vaccinated adults, or 2 unvaccinated adults.

Regional Victoria – outdoor sport resumes training from September 10, with gatherings of no more than 10 people at once.

Orienteering Victoria will return to sport in stages, following the vaccination milestones in the Victorian Government Roadmap.

Here is the status of the events that were scheduled for this period.  Please use our many Anytime Orienteering options to exercise within current travel limits and per health restrictions.

PARK STREET SUMMER SERIES

Summer Series will make a staged return, following Victoria’s vaccination milestones, as follows:

  • Summer Anytime Series (SAS) – a virtual competition using MapRun and with results published, on maps fixtured during October, will commence.  First maps will be published on Monday October 4.  A 15 km travel limit will be in place.  Click here for details.
  • Summer Training (milestone: 70% fully vaccinated, late October) – free training events will be offered, on fixtured maps, during this period. A 25 km travel limit will be in place.
  • Summer Series (milestone: 80% fully vaccinated, early November) – Summer Series competition returns. The travel limit will be removed.

PARK STREET WINTER SERIES

All Melbourne Park Street events for the remainder of Winter Series are cancelled.  We will make as many of these available on MapRun as we can.  Download the maps here and use any time, within travel restrictions.
