Orienteering Victoria Planning Staged Return to Sport

Big news!  Find out how Orienteering Victoria is returning to sport from June 1!!

Thanks to the latest Victorian Government announcement of further easing of restrictions, we’re looking forward with great anticipation to the imminent return of organised orienteering.  Our Return to Sport plan is now available; this provides comprehensive guidelines to ensure clubs can hold safe events, and to allow participants to head out with a map.  The RTS plan will be subject to frequent and ongoing change at short notice,  as restrictions ease further and the number of allowed participants gradually increases over coming weeks and months.  It will be widely communicated, and is important reading for everyone.  Find it here

From June 1, we will begin Park Street Pre-Season Reboot Sessions, for groups of up to 20 participants per session, and 2 separate sessions per day (40 participants total). Details of how these will work, along with the all-important signup sheet for the first 3 events, are now available – giving you plenty of time to plan ahead.  You MUST sign up ahead of time for these events – no entries accepted on the day.  Make sure you check the session times and choose the one that works best for you.  The first three events will be at Wantirna South on Monday June 1; Colchester on Wednesday June 3; and a special bonus event on Saturday June 6 at Princes Park. The full program, and all the details of how these sessions will work, can be viewed here.

Stop Press: due to demand, we’ve now added a Tuesday noon session at Wantirna South!  Look for the separate Tuesday tab on the signup sheet. We’ve also added some FAQs, to answer the most commonly-asked questions.

Other Events

Further planning is underway for the return of bush and MTBO events in the not too distant future.  Stay tuned!  Meanwhile until May 31, please keep using Maplink and DIY to train individually, or informally with a group of up to 10.  More activities and events will be added to the program as we go along.  Some postponed events from March-May may be held in August-October.  However it works out, we look forward to seeing you out there soon!
