Go Bush at Bendigo and Ballarat, July 9 and 10

If you’re looking for some bush orienteering this weekend, there are two great events on offer!

SATURDAY – BENDIGO BUSH 10 – DIAMOND HILL NORTH

Bendigo Orienteers will be running their usual Saturday Bush O event this Saturday 9 July on the highly enjoyable gold mining and spur-gully terrain of Diamond Hill North, with courses set by Julie Flynn.

  • Saturday 9 July
  • Starts between 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm.
  • Five courses are offered ranging from 1.9 km to 6.6 km.
  • All welcome including newcomers.

Entry is via Eventor by 6pm this Friday 8 July (limited enter on the day will be available but for a higher fee and with map availability not guaranteed)

SUNDAY – BALLARAT WINTER SERIES AT BROWN HILL

After an excellent first event at Mt Beckworth, Eureka Orienteers’ Ballarat Winter Series continues this Sunday 10 July at Brown Hill. This series is made up of low-key events on some of Victoria’s best maps and this event is no exception, on the southern part of the iconic Nerrina map, on the eastern edge of Ballarat (with courses set by Gary Buchan).

  • Sunday 10 July
  • Start any time between 10am and noon, with courses closing at 2pm.
  • Five courses are on offer, ranging from approximately 2 – 6km.
  • SportIdent timing will be used, with SI Air mode ON for those that wish to use their SIAC.
  • Please clean your shoes (in the foot baths provided by Eureka), before and after participating, to help prevent/reduce the spread of cinnamon fungus.
  • Volunteers to assist with collecting controls after the event are always welcomed.

Only limited entries on the day will be available, so please pre-enter on Eventor by this Wednesday night (6/7).
