Bendigo Local Events – COVID 19 Update

Hello Orienteers,

Things are changing rapidly with the coronavirus situation and Bendigo Orienteers has made the following changes to Bendigo local events;

Kooyoora Event March 21

  • Courses 4 and 5 will run as normal as these courses have been advertised as an introduction to bush orienteering in the primary schools visited by Frederic and others this week.
  • Courses 1,2 &3 will be made available so people can run them in there own time. Some maps will be available on the day however there will be no official start window and no times will be recorded – runners will be self-timed.
Frederic’s training events on Saturday (Kooyoora) and Sunday (Mount Korong) will run as advertised.
People are welcome to camp at either location over the weekend but please take appropriate measures as recommended by medical experts including frequent hand washing, staying 1.5m away from people etc.
Mt Alexander Event March 28.
Cancelled.

The courses will be used at an event in 2021.

Bendigo Local Events beyond March 28.
Cancelled until further notice.

Any further changes will be posted on Eventor.

Orienteering is something that we are all passionate about however Bendigo Orienteers believe these changes are a minor inconvenience in the current situation. The club will also be discussing opportunities to provide other orienteering alternatives by providing courses online or with MapRun.
