Ballarat Sprint Weekend, November 24-25 2018

The BALLARAT SPRINT WEEKEND is the grand finale of our Sprint Season! Featuring three amazing races over two intense days, the weekend will determine the winners of Sprint Into Spring, and the Victorian Sprint Champions for 2018.

It all kicks off on Saturday November 24 at the Mt Helen Campus of Federation University, close to Ballarat.  Sprint Into Spring race 6 is in the morning, with start times between 11 am and 12 noon.  After a rest break, the final race gets underway from the same venue, with starts between 3 pm and 4 pm.  The campus is large, with lots of buildings and landscaped open areas. It was used previously for Victorian Sprint Champs, and Australian Schools Sprint Champs.

Then on Sunday, we head into central Ballarat for the Victorian Sprint Champs, on a brand new map of the School of Mines.  Possibly the most complex sprint map seen in Australia, this will test every skill.  Running fast will not be enough – if your brain can’t keep up, you’ll be in trouble!  The small campus is multi level, with many tight turns, stairs and ramps; and great views too! This will be an unforgettable Sprint experience.

The Saturday races are Enter on the Day, with registration open from 10.30am.  The Vic Champs is PRE ENTRY ONLY.  Entries are now open on Eventor, and close on Wednesday November 21. Start times are pre-allocated and will be published on this website before the race.  You must enter the appropriate age group.

SI AIR punching will be activated for all three races!  Contactless punching adds to the excitement for competitors and spectators alike.  If you own a SIAC stick, make sure you enter the Champs with the correct SI number. If you don’t, you can hire one for just $5.50 for the whole weekend – add it to your Champs entry, and collect it on Saturday morning at registration.  SI AIR is optional; you may use your normal SI stick if you prefer.

PRESENTATIONS will be made at the conclusion of the Champs on Sunday.  Awards will be made to the winners of each Age class in the Championship race, and the Sprint Into Spring series winners will receive their Jerseys and certificates.
