Sunday Morning Sprints (SMS), January to March 2024

Kick off 2024 with a rush – be part of our new Sunday Morning Sprints!  All the action happens during January, February and March 2024, with a series of action-packed Sprint events at campus and urban venues around Melbourne.  Start off with our first-ever Indoor-Outdoor Sprint Relay at Monash Clayton; revisit the urban maze of Kensington; take on the challenge of the University of Melbourne; and wrap things up with a new map at Mt Lilydale.  All four venues are very different, offering something for everyone.

January 21 – Monash Clayton Indoor-Outdoor Sprint Relay

A four leg Relay for teams of two.  Each person will run twice – once Outdoors and once Indoors.  You’ll need to think fast and be ready to switch modes, as you race around the complex (and newly re-mapped) Clayton campus, and come to grips with the multilevel LTB and its incredible architecture.  Any two people can pair up, with no restriction on age, gender, club etc.  Choose a Long, Short, or Combo course.  Entries now open on Eventor – enter by Tuesday January 16 here.

February 11 – Kensington

One of Melbourne’s most interesting, and complicated, urban areas, with a tangle of small streets and sloping parks, and featuring the historic stock yards which just add to the fun!  Last used for the Victorian Sprint Champs.

March 3 – University of Melbourne

A world class, classic sprint venue in the heart of the city; it’s more than overdue for a visit, or a revisit for those who remember Melbourne Sprint Weekend back in 2016!

March 24 – Mt Lilydale

A brand new map of a compact campus on the side of a hill; you’ll need to read every detail and keep your wits about you to successfully navigate this one.
