MTBO State Series Event #5

Yarra Valley Orienteering Club.

 

There had been rain during the week, and rain overnight on the Saturday night so the tracks

were wet and the clay sticky, but there was no rain or wind on the Sunday (or on Saturday

while setting up the event). The wet riding conditions made course winning times a bit

longer than had been planned. We had 63 entries, some were groups (and not all the groups

listed all their names) so we’re not sure of the total numbers – probably 69.

 

This event had originally been planned for Bendigo but refusal by Parks Victoria led to a late

change. Many thanks to Eureka OC for the use of their Nerrina map. And thanks to the

Bendigo OC for their original cooperation. A big thank you to the Little Bendigo Primary

School principal and community for the use of their school. Thanks to everyone for

respecting their facilities.

 

Due to a mis-communication, YVOC was a little short of helpers on the day. Many thanks to

Liz Hatley and Kevin Maloney for their assistance.
