Australian Team for WOC 2008

Orienteering Australia has
selected the team to compete at the 2008 World
Orienteering Championships in July in the Czech
Republic.The team includes
first timer Jasmine Neve (Melbourne Forest Racers),
along with Kathryn Ewels (Central Highlands).
The races that each athlete will run will be
determined at a later date by the team's coaches.
The World Championships will be held in and around
Olomouc (pronounced Olla-moats), a town of approximately
100,000 in the western part of the Czech Republic.
Racing commences on 13 July with the sprint races and
finishes on 20 July with the relay. The WOC website is

Sunday's Mt Beckworth SILVA NOL / State Series / Badge
Event - Start times from
8.30 to 11.00 am (instead of advertised 10.00 to 1.00 pm).
After consultation with the
organiser and course setter, it has been decided to
bring the SILVA
NOL starts forward by one hour,
and to start the state
series / badge event from 8:30 as well. State
Series / Badge starts on courses 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9
will be from 8:30 to 11.00am;
and for courses 1, 2, 3, and 4 from 9.00
to 11.00am |

Some of the highlight policy
changes included:
- Water - please bring your own supplies of water
for your own use at the start or finish of events
below Badge level.
- Pre-entry - to improve the standard of badge
events we will move to make them pre-entry with
pre-marked maps.
- Awards - To complement existing course setter
awards we will be introducing an Event Management
Award to go to the individual, team or club that
puts on the best event or series of events during
the year.

Bushrangers Keely and Neve
13th January 2008 Young elites Bryan Keely and
Jasmine Neve have been selected to represent the Australian
Bushrangers against the New Zealand Pinestars in a series of elite
test matches in NZ from February.

Clean sweeps for
Lawford and Dalheim families

Eureka's Lawford family had a great day at Spring Gully with
Geoff (M50A), Jenny Bourne (W45A), Belinda (W20A) and Ian (M16A) all
winning by big margins.
Not to be outdone, MFR's Dalheim family won W40A (Nicola), M21AS
(Carl), W12 (Rosie) and M10 (Max).
