Orienteering Victoria hopes you enjoyed watching Coxy give orienteering a go on a recent episode of his popular show. Now you can try it yourself...
- You don't need any expensive gear.
- You don't need to be an expert map reader!
What type of challenge are you after? At every event there are courses to suit all abilities. All the family can join in! Bring Dad, Mum, brothers, sisters (even your dog to some events). We encourage everyone to test themselves - whether you run or walk - in parks, forests or on our urban (city) maps. Along the way we guarantee you'll find marvelous corners of our state you never knew existed.

Events suit all ages and abilities, whether you're eight or eighty, super fit or just battling that middle age spread like our mate Coxy.
You can find lots of information on the Orienteering Victoria and Orienteering Australia web sites (including a YouTube video: Orienteering for beginners).

Don't live in Victoria? No problem, there are similar events in every state and territory - and all over the world!
First timer? Here's a guide to everything you need to know. Don't worry; there are always experienced coaches to help you get going (and tell you where the nearest coffee shop and best cakes can be found for after the event!)
When's the next event? Check our coming events here. Tell us that Coxy sent you and we'll give you free* entry at your first bush or Mountain Bike event.
Low-key urban events are also held around Melbourne or Geelong on most summer weeknights - just $4 for an adult entry will get you going at these popular events.
We look forward to seeing you at an event very soon.

* To qualify for the free entry, participants must not have entered a bush or mountain bike orienteering event in the past six years and must complete a pink "newcomer" registration card which provides Orienteering Victoria with a contact email for further advertising of orienteering events. Free entry includes free SI and compass hire if required.
