Great Day for the Vics

Saturday, 30 September 2017

Not only was there the small matter of an AFL Premiership Cup to retain in Victoria (job done!), but there were some top performances at the Australian Long Distance Champs today in the highly challenging gold mining terrain of Hill End.

The Key family were dominant, with Tash, Aston and Warren all claiming championship wins, and Milla chiming in with 3rd in W12.  Serryn Eenjes took out W14 to cap off a great week. Jenny Bourne won W55 and Ted van Geldermalsen won M60. Carolyn Jackson won W60 with Julie Flynn 2nd.  On W75, Janet Tarr and Helen Alexander were 2nd and 3rd, and Graeme Cadman completed M85 to claim 2nd place. Blair Trewin was 3rd in M45, and Lanita Steer was notable for placing 6th in her first Aus Champs as a senior elite, on top of her 4th in the Sprint last weekend.

The Carnival wraps up tomorrow with the Relays.  Good luck and have fun!
